The piece & its details
A deep wine Banarasi mulberry silk sari with a plain, high-lustre body that lets the border take the stage. The hem opens into a figurative arcade in gold zari, with peacocks, deer and garden motifs set within architectural arches.
The pallu turns dense and formal with an ogee gold jaal, carrying the same richness through the fall. For evening weddings, receptions and occasions where the border should be the story.
