Our Story

Aadya is a tribute to Indian handloom as heirloom — saris, suit pieces and timeless textiles, chosen with care for the modern woman.

Named after my daughter, born during the Diwali season in October 2025, Aadya began with a simple wish: to bring the beauty of India’s textile traditions to women who value authenticity, refinement and meaning.

I was born in Chhattisgarh and later lived and worked as a doctor in Mumbai before moving to the United Kingdom, where I now practise as a GP. India has always remained an important part of how I see beauty, celebration and tradition, and Aadya grew naturally from my own love of saris and traditional Indian clothing.

For me, these are never simply garments. A beautiful sari or suit piece carries memory, artistry and inheritance. It reflects the skill of the weaver, the character of the place from which it comes, the patience of handwork and the quiet dignity of Indian craftsmanship.

With Aadya, my aim is simple: to bring genuine handwoven Banarasi saris, elegant suit pieces and other traditional Indian textiles to a wider audience, while presenting them in a way that feels refined, contemporary and wearable today.

I source directly from handloom producers and carefully select every piece myself. The collection is intentionally curated rather than overwhelming. I look for pieces with beauty, quality and soul — textiles that honour traditional weaving techniques while still speaking naturally to modern taste.

Every Aadya piece is chosen with care: the richness of the weave, the balance of colour, the elegance of the border, the feel of the fabric, and the occasion it might one day become part of. Some pieces are grand and ceremonial; others are quiet, graceful and understated. Each is selected because I believe it deserves to be worn, treasured and, perhaps one day, passed on.

Aadya is deeply personal to me. It brings together my love of Indian textiles, my connection to the traditions I grew up with, and my hope that these extraordinary crafts will continue to find a place in the lives of a new generation of women — in India, in Britain and beyond.

It is my attempt to share something of the India I love: rooted, artistic, feminine, festive and enduring.

I hope every piece you find here feels special — not mass-produced, not ordinary, but chosen with the same care with which it was made.
