The piece & its details
A red pure tussar silk Banarasi sari with a warm, textured body and fine horizontal gold zari stripes that catch only when the fabric moves. The colour is deep rather than bright, which keeps the sari grounded.
The border is the centrepiece: a silver zari field filled with surahi ewers, diya lamps, pavilions, vines and multicolour meenakari. The pallu returns to a dense gold floral jaal on red — strong, festive and unmistakably Banarasi.
