The piece & its details
A lilac Banarasi in georgette — lighter and softer in hand than silk, with a natural drape that falls in easy, flowing pleats. The body carries oversized round coin butas in champagne zari, large enough to read as a pattern in their own right rather than scattered accents. It's a bold choice of scale for such a quiet ground, and it works.
The border runs temple spikes rising into a feather-and-leaf band, and then the pallu takes over: a full champagne panel woven entirely in a herringbone feather repeat, dense and warm against the lilac body. Silk tassels in a matching lilac-grey finish the end. The blouse piece is plain lilac georgette with a simple zari border — deliberately understated so the pallu stays the centre of attention.
For daytime receptions and festive lunches where you want something graceful rather than grand. Georgette travels well and drapes without fuss.
